Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog break up
Only one month before "The Muppets" reboot is set to air on ABC, Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog formally announced that they're over.
From Kermit's Facebook page:
The inter-species couple also announced their amicable breakup at a press conference. Kermit will continue to produce Miss Piggy's show, "Up Late With Miss Piggy," despite the drama.
"Piggy and I have gone our separate ways romantically," he said to a crowd of reporters. "It can be tough to work with your ex. It can be tough to be the executive producer on your ex's late-night TV show, especially when your ex is a pig. I don't know whether any of you have ever dated pigs."
Kermit insisted the couple are "professional adults," but Miss Piggy couldn't resist a few shots at the amphibian.
"One of us is certainly professional," said the late-night host. "You can guess who that is, I'm sure. I have no problem working with my ex, okay? It's fine. It's totally healed."
She waxed poetic: "Dating moi is like flying close to the sun. It was inevitable that Kermit would drop down to the ground while I stayed in the heavens."
So much for that rainbow connection.
