Michelle Obama's gifts for British prince and princess

First Lady Michelle Obama travels to the United Kingdom

LONDON -- Michelle Obama came to Kensington Palace bearing gifts when she met Prince Harry for tea in London during an official visit to Britain.

The U.S. first lady brought gifts for 23-month-old Prince George and 6-week-old Princess Charlotte, the children of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

The U.S. Embassy in London said Wednesday that Obama brought a red, American-made Berlin Flyer P-Wee Wagon for George and an Amish rocking chair and a personalized Alpaca baby blanket for Charlotte. She did not deliver the gifts to the young prince and princess in person during her visit.

Kensington Palace tweeted about the first lady's tea with Prince Harry.

The Palace said on Twitter that Prince Harry "was very pleased to host Mrs. Michelle Obama @FLOTUS for tea at Kensington Palace," and the two had discussed their shared interest in supporting veterans and their families. The Prince also heard from Obama on her Let Girls Learn initiative on girls' education.

Obama spent Tuesday in London before traveling to Italy. She also met with Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha and promoted girls education at an east London school.
