Michael Fassbender in talks to play Steve Jobs in biopic
Michael Fassbender is the latest actor rumored to be up for the job of playing Steve Jobs.
The "X-Men: Days of Future Past" star is currently in discussions to portray the Apple co-founder in a new biopic, according to Variety.
Christian Bale had previously been considered for the part but has since moved on after passing up the role. Leonardo DiCaprio at one point was also interested in playing Jobs before deciding to take a break from acting.
"Jobs" will be directed by "Slumdog Millionaire" filmmaker Danny Boyle -- with a script written by Aaron Sorkin that was adapted from Walter Isaacson's biography, "Steve Jobs."
The film is expected to be divided into three sections -- each focusing on a critical stage in the tech pioneer's life.
Seth Rogen is reportedly in talks to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, while Jessica Chastain has also been rumored to co-star.
Fassbender wouldn't be the first actor to step into Jobs' shoes. Noah Wyle previously played him in the 1999 TNT film "Pirates of Silicon Valley." In 2012, "Two and a Half Men" star Ashton Kutcher portrayed the title role in the independently-produced, "Jobs."
Fassbender will next be seen in "Assassin's Creed," due out Aug. 7, 2015.
