A "Men in Black" and "21 Jump Street" crossover is really happening
What sounded like a joke uncovered in the Sony email hack is turning into a reality.
Yes, it looks like the film worlds of "Men in Black" and "21 Jump Street" will be colliding, though exactly how isn't quite clear.
During Sony's CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas Tuesday, the studio offered up a sizzle reel of upcoming sequels to its previous hits, including "The Girl Who Played with Fire," "Equalizer 2" and "Bad Boys III." And nestled there among the announcements was the title "MIB 23" -- as the previously planned third film in Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill's "Jump Street" franchise was going to be called "23 Jump Street."
While there is no release date or cast set for the film yet, it does have a director: James Bobin, who directed "The Muppets" and the upcoming "Alice Through the Looking Glass."
Sony also introduced plans for "The Emoji Movie," which will take place in the world inside a smartphone and will have a plot that heavily involves apps. So there's that to look forward to.
