Megan Mullally hints at a “Will & Grace” revival
“Will & Grace” star Megan Mullally really makes it sound like the sitcom will be making a comeback soon.
A pro-Hillary Clinton get-out-the-vote video in September featured Mullally reunited with co-stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing and Sean Hayes, and the response to the clip -- including more than 6.5 million views on YouTube -- made it clear fans were still interested in seeing more from the characters.
So does that mean a revival is in the works? When pressed on the topic by PrideSource, the actress got a bit cagey.
“All I can say is that there is a very good chance that that might happen. It’s not happening right this second. I mean, we’re not rehearsing or anything like that. But there is a very good chance that something is going to materialize,” she said, adding that she “can’t really talk about it or say anything, because you know how it is.”
But how about some hypotheticals? Mullally discussed why now would be a great time to bring the series back -- and in doing so, she may have let slip some more details.
“Speaking theoretically, in a completely made-up world where ‘Will & Grace’ is coming back to NBC for 10 episodes -- just in that made-up world -- it couldn’t be a better time. I mean, it couldn’t possibly be better timing,” she said.
“I mean, it’s heinous that it’s because Donald Trump is the president-elect. That’s just a crazy sentence that nobody would have ever thought they’d utter. But having said that, at the same time, that just gives us carte blanche.”
Hypothetically speaking, of course.
