When talking about his role in the upcoming "The Normal Heart," in which he plays a gay man dying of AIDS, he says that he immediately lobbied for the role because of the original play's writer Larry Kramer, who paved the way for gay rights.
"I wouldn't have a lot of the rights I have today if it wasn't for people like Larry," Bomer says, dropping the bombshell news. "I just wanted to be involved with the project in some capacity. I didn't care what my part was."
Bomer and Halls have three sons together -- 6-year-old twins Walker and Henry, and 8-year-old Kit.
