Massive python found in Malaysia could be a record-breaker
Construction workers at a building site in Malaysia made a startling discovery: A reticulated python that measured about 25 feet long and weighed in at 550 pounds -- one of the longest snakes ever captured.
Reports said that the snake was kept in an office where it was given food and water until wildlife experts could arrive on the scene. However, the snake died three days later after laying an egg.
Currently the Guinness Book of World Records lists the longest snake as Medusa, a reticulated python that measured 25.1 feet in 2011 and is currently living in captivity in Missouri.
