Marathon Man? More like drug runner, say cops

CHICAGO -- Authorities say a wanted man tried to outrun pursuing officers by blending into a sea of Chicago Marathon participants last weekend.

WLS-TV reports Bryan Duffy of Chicago ran from police officers Sunday after they approached him on State Street. Police say the 29-year-old man jumped into a pack of marathon runners to try to escape, but police were ultimately able to tackle and arrest Duffy.

Police say Duffy was carrying 10 capsules of MDMA, also known as Molly or ecstasy.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, as well as reckless conduct for endangering the marathoners. His bail was set for $10,000.

There's no evidence Duffy plans to attend the New York City Marathon scheduled in a few weeks.
