UPPER MARLBORO, Md. -- Police say a man was shot and killed while breaking into the home of a former boyfriend early Monday morning, reports CBS affiliate WUSA.

The homeowner called police in Upper Marlboro, Md., around 2:40 a.m. Monday. According to authorities, he said he had just shot someone who was trying to climb through a window in his home, which is located inside a gated community.

When police arrived, they found 30-year-old Craig Ivan Corbin, Jr., a Baltimore resident, bleeding from a gunshot wound. Corbin died on the scene, according to police.

The shooter reportedly told police that he and Corbin had a prior romantic relationship. The Prince George's State's Attorney has not yet decided whether charges will be filed against the shooter, whose identity has not been released by police.
