Man charged with murder after body found in Ky. creek
MADISON COUNTY, Ky. -- Kentucky State Police is charging a man with murder in connection to a body that was found in a creek last Wednesday, according to CBS affiliate WKYT.
Billy Chadwell, 35, was arrested early Sunday morning and was charged in the murder of Francisco J. Martinez-Castillo. In an arrest citation, police allege that Chadwell admitted to witnesses that he was the last person to see Martinez-Castillo, before being reported missing on March 21, according to the station.
Police also say that the suspect knew information that only someone involved in the case would know.
Another witness told investigators that Chadwell had been in the area where Martinez-Castillo's body was found on Wednesday evening. The people who reportedly found the body had been canoeing in Silver Creek below Wilgreen Lake in Madison County, according to WKYT.
The victim's body was then sent to the state Medical Examiner's office, where they determined that he was a homicide victim.
