Man accused of setting girlfriend on fire gets arrested

SEATTLE - Seattle police have arrested a man they say set his girlfriend on fire after an argument.

Authorities say 62-year-old John Turner was arrested Tuesday morning at a downtown shelter after a witness recognized him from an online posting about the case.

His girlfriend was walking through the parking lot of her apartment Sunday night when she ran into Turner and they argued. Turner is accused of throwing an unidentified fluid on her before igniting it.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where she was in critical condition with burns to her chest, face and arms.
