Man accused in frying pan killing leads authorities to bones

TACOMA, Wash. - Authorities in Washington state believe they've found the remains of a man they say was beaten to death with frying pans in 2013, and the man charged with the killing is expected to plead guilty.

Pierce County prosecutor's spokeswoman Heather Songer says Michael Breer is expected to plead guilty to second-degree murder Thursday, the day his trial was set to begin. He's accused of killing 18-year-old Justin Morris.

Breer's lawyer, Leslie Tolzin, confirmed the expected guilty plea.

Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says Breer led authorities to the bones in a wooded area Tuesday. Authorities are still awaiting positive identification but believe the remains belong to Morris.

Breer was charged in July 2013 with first-degree murder, even though no body was found at the time.

In addition to the murder charge, CBS affiliate KIRO reports Breer is charged with possession of child pornography after detectives say they found sexually explicit images of boys on his cell phone.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by the station, Morris had borrowed Breer's cell phone shortly before he was murdered.

Investigators have not determined whether the photographs have anything to do with Morris' death, reports the station.
