"Mad Max: Fury Road" debuts explosive new trailer
Things are getting post-apocalyptic in the explosive new trailer for "Mad Max: Fury Road."
The film, which has Tom Hardy stepping into the road warrior role first played by Mel Gibson, comes 30 years after the last "Mad Max" installment hit movie screens.
The trippy trailer has desolate landscapes, a high-octane chase scene and "Mad" Max Rockatansky (Hardy) joining up with a caravan of travelers that includes Charlize Theron (sporting a buzzcut) as they try to cross the desert. Fans of the original films will also recognize Hugh Keays-Byrne -- who played Toecutter in the original "Mad Max" -- as new baddie Immortan Joe.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" opens in theaters May 15, a day after it screens at the Cannes Film Festival.
