LL Cool J to host Grammys for fourth time

Now this bit of news probably won't come as a surprise to Grammy Awards watchers.

LL Cool J has been tapped to host this year's awards ceremony, marking his fourth consecutive year as emcee. He also recently hosted CBS' "A Very Grammy Christmas" event.

"I'm thrilled to again be part of Music's Biggest Night," the rapper-turned-actor said in a statement Wednesday. "The performances and moments you see on the Grammy stage are nothing less than amazing throughout the years and this year's show is shaping up to be one you will never forget."

The 57th Grammys will feature performers AC/DC, Eric Church, Common, Ariana Grande, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Usher and Pharrell Williams.

Beyonce, Williams and Smith lead the pack of nominees this year with six nods each, including album of the year. Iggy Azalea, Beck, Eric Church, engineer Tom Coyne, Drake, Gordon Goodwin, Jay Z, Miranda Lambert, Sia, Usher and Jack White are not far behind with four nominations each.

The 57th Grammy Awards will broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS.
