Lena Dunham helms new show "Max" for HBO
Lena Dunham's empire just keeps on growing.
The "Girls" creator recently launched an online newsletter called Lenny Letter, which has already attracted guest writers like Jennifer Lawrence. Now, Dunham has a deal with HBO to create a second TV series with the premium cable channel.
HBO has ordered a half-hour comedy pilot called "Max." The show is set in the magazine industry in 1963, reports Variety. It will carry themes of second-wave feminism and actress Lisa Joyce is to star as a young magazine writer.
Joyce is a fairly fresh face -- she has been in DirecTV's "Billy & Billie," and has appeared on shows like "Boardwalk Empire," "The Good Wife," "SVU" and "The Following."
Dunham will serve as director and executive producer, and will team up with "Girls" colleagues Murray Miller, Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress.
