LeBron James and Dwyane Wade make amazing World Series bet
It’s Chicago vs. Cleveland in the World Series right now. But the cities’ baseball players aren’t the only ones facing off for bragging rights.
Cleveland’s own LeBron James and Chicago native Dwyane Wade — two of the NBA’s biggest stars — just took to social media with a rather high stakes wager. On second thought, maybe it isn’t as much high stakes as it is high fashion.
Whichever player’s city loses has to attend the winning city’s next NBA home game, fully decked out in the apparel of the World Series champs.
So, if the Cubs prevail, King James — the face of Cleveland sports — will have to wear head-to-toe Cubs gear to the Dec. 2 Cavaliers-Bulls game in Chicago. If the Indians prevail, D-Wade has to rock Indians apparel to the Jan. 4 Bulls-Cavaliers game in Cleveland.
Talk about putting it all on the (clothing) line for your home team!
On Tuesday, Wade — who recently transferred from the Miami Heat, where he played alongside LeBron, to his hometown Bulls — posted the video above on Twitter for UnInterrupted, outlining the details of the wager.
“Bron, the bet is this,” says Wade in the video. “We’re both fashionable guys. We both love to dress. We both love to feel good and look good, so whoever’s team loses, the loser has to show up during the NBA season to the other guy’s home game dressed as the team who won.”
And, ever the competitive sportsman, Lebron promptly agreed.
Now, we just have to sit back and watch how the World Series plays out. But in less than two months, one of the pals is in for quite the embarrassing photo op. Talk about hanging your friend out to dry.
