Kristen Wiig to make directorial debut

Kristen Wiig will soon have even more skill sets to add to her resume.

The "Bridesmaids" and "Secret Life of Walter Mitty" star will be making her directorial debut with an as-yet-untitled comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to serving as a first-time director, Wiig will also be teaming up again with her "Bridesmaids" writing partner Annie Mumolo to pen the screenplay. Mumolo and Wiig scored a best original screenplay Oscar nomination for their work on "Bridesmaids," a rare fete for a comedy filled with crude humor from a pair of first-time screenwriters.

"We're very excited to be writing. We will be going into a cave for months to finish. An actual cave. We found one that's nice and big. We're putting a couch in there," read a statement from Wiig and Mumolo to THR.

The duo will also star in the project, about two best friends who find themselves in a tough spot. This will mark Mumolo's first time in a leading film role.

Wiig most recently starred in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" and has lent her voice to "How to Train Your Dragon 2," in theaters Friday.
