Kim Kardashian West: Taylor Swift approved of "Famous" -- and we have proof

This story clearly isn't going away.

In her new interview for GQ magazine, Kim Kardashian West sheds new light on the feud her husband, Kanye West, has been having with Taylor Swift for several years -- specifically about how Swift reacted to being name-checked in the lyrics to West's "Famous."

Swift was quick to condemn West's mention of her and shot down his claims that he'd cleared the whole thing with her ahead of time, but Kardashian West says Swift is nothing but a big liar -- and they have footage to prove it.

"She totally approved that. She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn't," Kardashian West told the magazine. "I swear, my husband gets so much s**t for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved."

And to hear Kardashian West tell it, not only was Swift OK with it, but her initial public condemnation of the song was meant to be just an act.

"I don't know why she just, you know, flipped all of a sudden," Kardashian West said. "It was funny because [on the call with Kanye, Taylor] said, 'When I get on the Grammy red carpet, all the media is going to think that I'm so against this, and I'll just laugh and say, 'The joke's on you, guys. I was in on it the whole time.'"

That didn't happen, of course, as Swift used her Grammy win as a chance to further criticize West, making passing reference to the song and his behavior.

Kardashian West, though, introduces a new wrinkle, explaining that West was being followed around by a videographer at the time of his phone call with Swift -- and the whole thing was recorded.

"They sent an attorney's letter like, 'Don't you dare do anything with that footage,' and asking us to destroy it," Kardashian West said. She pauses. "When you shoot something, you don't stop every two seconds and be like, 'Oh wait, we're shooting this for my documentary.' You just film everything, and whatever makes the edit, then you see, then you send out releases. It's like what we do for our show."

As for where Swift stands on all of this? The magazine reached out to her rep and received the following response: "Kim Kardashian's claim that Taylor and her team were aware of being recorded is not true, and Taylor cannot understand why Kanye West -- and now Kim Kardashian -- will not just leave her alone."
