Khloe Kardashian breaks silence for first time since Lamar Odom's hospitalization
Khloe Kardashian is speaking up for the first time since her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel last week.
Things are looking up for the former NBA player, after he regained consciousness at Las Vegas hospital and continues to overcome "insurmountable obstacles," according to a family statement.
And now Kardashian is breaking her silence in an emotional post, thanking "family, friends and fans" for their support.
"This past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends and fans who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar," Kardashian, 31, wrote Tuesday on her website.
"I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!"
Kardashian has been by Odom's side for the past week as he battled great odds, according to his family.
Odom was found in critical condition on Oct. 13 at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada. He regained consciousness and communicated for the first time on Friday.
Odom is now in Los Angeles where he continues his treatment. In addition to Kardashian, his father and two children from a previous relationship are with him. A new statement, released by family on Tuesday, said, "He continues to make miraculous progress, taking a few steps in Los Angeles."
Kardashian, 31, and Odom, 35, married in 2009 after a month-long whirlwind romance. They split up in 2013, and although they both signed papers over the summer, the divorce hasn't been approved by a judge yet.
