Police: Alleged gang member caught with weapons stash, drugs

FRESNO, Calif. -- Police say a traffic stop led to the discovery of weapons and drugs at the home of a 33-year-old alleged gang member.

Khamprasong Thammavong was stopped by a Fresno police officer Monday night, the police department said in Facebook post. Thammavong, who police say is a documented member of the Laos Bloods gang, is on probation, which means authorities can search his home after a stop.

The search of his residence allegedly turned up a semi-automatic rifle, a semi-automatic handgun, tactical gear similar to what law enforcement wear, a marijuana grow house, narcotics and photos of Thammavong posing with weapons.

Authorities arrested Thammavong on numerous felony charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm and cultivation of marijuana.
