Kelly Rutherford loses her international custody battle

Kelly Rutherford has lost custody of her two children, and going forward, the actress won't be allowed to bring them to the United States, reports the Washington Post.

The former "Gossip Girl" star has been caught up in a heated custody battle with her ex-husband Daniel Giersch over their children, Hermes, 9, and Helena, 6.

In the latest development, a Monaco judge ruled that Giersch will receive full custody of the kids. Now Rutherford, 47, will only be able to visit Hermes and Helena either in France and Monaco.

After the ruling, Rutherford was quoted that she "has no words." And on Wednesday, she posted this Instagram:

Over the years, Rutherford has shed a lot of money going to visit her their children in Monaco, where they live with their father. She's gone bankrupt, incurring about $1.4. million in legal fees.

In 2013, a Los Angeles judge ruled that the children would live with Giersch in Monaco. The German businessman was barred from traveling to the United States because of a revoked visa, so Rutherford had to travel overseas to see her children because Giersch couldn't enter the U.S. The two married in 2006 and filed for divorce in Los Angeles two years later.
