Kanye West cancels tour dates to work on new album
Kanye West has a new album coming out, and while that is exciting news for most of his fans around the world, those Down Under may be feeling a little down under. The rapper has postponed his May tour of Australia so he can focus on making new music.
"Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia," Roc Nation said in a statement Tuesday. "The tour dates originally scheduled from May 2 to May 11, 2014 will now be played from September 5 to September 15, 2014. All tickets for the initially scheduled shows will be honored for the new dates."
West is currently on tour promoting his chart-topping and critically-acclaimed 2013 album "Yeezus." His upcoming seventh studio album, is due out for release later this year, and is being produced by Rick Rubin (who also produced "Yeezus") and A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip.
And making music in the studio is not the only thing West has happening at the moment. He is also planning to tie the knot with fiancee Kim Kardashian in May.
