Judith Light to return on Broadway in "Therese Raquin"

Judith Light: A star on the Broadway stage

Keira Knightley will have some onstage help making her Broadway debut next year from Tony Award-winner Judith Light, "Constantine" star Matt Ryan and Tony-winner Gabriel Ebert from "Matilda the Musical."

The Roundabout Theatre Company said Wednesday that the trio will co-star with Knightley in "Therese Raquin," a stage adaptation of the Emile Zola novel. It will be directed by Evan Cabnet and begin previews on Oct. 1.

"Therese Raquin," written in 1867, is about a woman trapped in a loveless marriage who embarks on an illicit affair with a friend of her husband's. The story has been adapted into a 1953 film starring Simone Signoret and another last year starring Elizabeth Olsen.

Light, the former "Who's the Boss?" star, has won Tonys for "Other Desert Cities" and "The Assembled Parties." She recently appeared in the critically-acclaimed Amazon Prime series, "Transparent."

"I'm so grateful for that," Light recently told CBS News about the acting opportunities she's been getting to pursue. "I feel very incredibly blessed."
