Joshua Jackson: A "Mighty Ducks 4" should happen

Is the beloved "Mighty Ducks" franchise getting a fourth film?!

If Joshua Jackson has anything to do with it, definitely.

In a new interview with Time to celebrate "D2: The Mighty Ducks" 20th anniversary, Jackson said that he would definitely come back to his breakout role as Charlie Conway.

"I feel like a fourth film should happen, and if there was space for any of the original kids that come back and have a role, I would be surprised that anybody didn't want to do it," he said. "The next generation should have its own version. Not that we need to come back as adults, but I hope my kids grow up and play pickup hockey and I hope that they have their own movies like my generation had those movies. In that way, yeah, of course, I'd be a part of something like that."

"The Mighty Ducks" -- which tells the story of a self-centered lawyer (Emilio Estevez) sentenced to community service coaching a youth hockey team -- was a surprise hit in 1992, and spawned a trilogy that still holds a special place in pop culture.

According to Jackson, now 35, he still takes plenty of jokes about the film today.

"I play in a men's league here in L.A. and I still get that stuff all the time," he said. "It's hockey. If you're not talking s--t, you're not really playing."

Though he looks back at his time filming "Mighty Ducks" with a lot of fondness.

" ... It was such an innocent time in my life as well. I was 13 years old. I had no idea what I was doing," he reminisced. "I was suddenly in hockey bootcamp in Minnesota with a group of kids that I didn't know and trying to figure out that now, all of a sudden, I was a special actor. I just really have very, very fond memories of the whole experience."
