Josh Charles, wife expecting first child together

Actor Josh Charles and his wife, Sophie Flack, are going to be parents for the first time, a rep told Us Weekly.

The former star of "The Good Wife" and Flack, 31, were spotted at pre-Emmys events in Los Angeles. Photos taken at the events show Flack with a baby bump. Charles and Flack, a former ballet dancer, tied the knot last September in New York.

Fans were left stunned back in March when Charles' character was killed off "The Good Wife." During a CBS panel discussion earlier this year, Charles, 42, explained his exit: "I didn't ask to be let out of anything. My contract was up, and it was time to be thinking about the people close to me. I did a lot of soul searching. I was ready for something different. That's no reflection for how I feel about the show, it's just more of what I want to do with my life."

Fans of "The Good Wife," though, will be happy to know what Charles is directing an episode for the upcoming season.

"The Good Wife" returns Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
