Jon Stewart announced his final guests on "The Daily Show" Thursday night, before wrapping his second-to-last week hosting the satirical news program. Stewart has anchored the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning show since 1999.

Stewart will welcome comedians Amy Schumer, Denis Leary and Louis C.K. on his last three episodes before the finale on Aug. 6, which is scheduled to be 50 minutes long.

Leary tweeted about the Aug. 4 appearance almost a month ago, responding to a "Daily Show" viewer's tweet hoping Leary would reappear on the show before Stewart departed.

In a Twitter Q&A, Stewart revealed his friends Leary and C.K. are among his favorite guests. Stewart and Schumer reportedly discussed her taking over the show earlier this year, but she turned down the offer.

"I can't wait to show my appreciation at all the support and enthusiasm that you guys have given this show all these years, so thank you all so much," Stewart said at the end of Thursday's episode. "Next week, tune in, it's gonna be a ball."

South African stand-up comedian Trevor Noah will take Stewart's place. He joined the show in 2014 as a contributor.
