Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep head "Into the Woods" in new trailer

It's time for a trip "Into the Woods."

The official trailer for the new musical made its debut Thursday, offering up a glimpse of what's in store for Cinderella, Rapunzel and others from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale world.

The film marks Disney's first-ever adaptation of a Broadway production, having been based on the hit musical that landed Stephen Sondheim a best original score Tony Award in 1988. Curiously though, none of his music can be heard in the new teaser.

It features a star-studded cast, which includes Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine. "Chicago" and "Nine" filmmaker Rob Marshall served as their director.

"Into the Woods" arrives in theaters on Christmas Day.
