John Kerry snaps an "elfie" with orphan elephant

Secretary of State John Kerry visited a Kenyan elephant orphanage over the weekend, and he couldn't resist a photo opportunity with one of the residents.

Kerry visited the Sheldrick Center Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi National Park on Sunday, where he met conservationists and learned about their efforts to save baby elephants orphaned by poaching.

America's top diplomat became quick friends with one particular youngster, and soon put his smartphone into action.

Kerry continued his visit to Kenya Monday by commemorating the victims of Kenya's past and present terror attacks. He offered American support in the fight against an increasingly diffuse but perhaps more dangerous terror threat emanating out of Somalia.

His trip to the African country coincides with improving U.S.-Kenyan ties and sets the stage for President Obama's visit this summer.
