Jim Carrey helps carry coffin at late girlfriend Cathriona White's funeral

Jim Carrey joined mourners at late girlfriend Cathriona White's funeral on Saturday in Cappawhite, Tipperary, Ireland.

The actor was one of six people to carry White's coffin from the Our Lady of Fatima church to the cemetery, reports the Irish Times. White, 30, died in Los Angeles on Sept. 28 of apparent suicide.

The funeral mass was packed to its 300-person capacity with family members and friends, including those who traveled from Los Angeles to grieve.

White's mother Brigid, step-mother Bríd, sisters Lisa, Sarah and Larina, brothers Tadhg and Liam, grandmother Lily, grandfather James and the rest of her immediate family were also present.

Parish priest Friar Tadhg Furlong said of the young makeup artist and stylist: "Cathriona's approach to life was to take on, to challenge the county, the country, the world. You remember the outgoing personality; the strong-willed, determined character. Cathriona was a light to so many. Something of the light has gone out. Yet much remains. The light continues to shine. The light of love lives on; the love you had for Cathriona; the love she had for you."

Earlier, Carrey expressed his grief in a statement.

"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled," the 53-year-old actor said. "My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."

The day of the funeral, Carrey tweeted a photo of himself with his ex-girlfriend, writing simply, "Love cannot be lost."

Carrey and White had been reportedly dating on and off since 2012.
