Three men charged in murder of Minn. couple

MINNEAPOLIS -- Three men are facing charges after a couple was found murdered and burned inside their southwest Minnesota home, according to CBS Minnesota.

A passerby called for firefighters last Thursday morning after seeing Jim and Cathy Hively's farmhouse engulfed in flames, according to the station. The couple was later found dead inside the home.

Three suspects -- Derek Hexum, Theodore Como and Kyle Wesslink were arrested.

By Monday, three men -- Derek Hexum, Theodore Como and Kyle Wesslink -- were in custody, reports the station. Investigators are still trying to figure out the motive.

Hexum and Como were arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, arson and burglary, while Wesslink may be charged with arson, burglary and possession of stolen property charges, according to the station.

Grace Life Church Associate Pastor Bernie Wing told the station that the couple lived on the farm for decades.

Wing also told the station how wants the town to heal and remember how the Hivelys dedicated their lives to the community. The couple reportedly served Thanksgiving meals for more than 20 years and baked for the police and the fire departments and school staff on a regular basis, according to the station.
