U.Va. abduction suspect transferred to different jail

FAIRFAX, Va. - The man accused of abducting University of Virginia student Hannah Graham, who was found dead, was transferred from the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail to a Fairfax detention center early Wednesday, reports CBS affiliate WTVR.

Jesse Matthew Jr., 32, is scheduled to appear in court there Friday for a status hearing in connection with a 2005 attack on a 26-year-old Fairfax woman. He is charged with abduction, sexual assault and attempted capital murder in that case.

Matthew is charged separately in Charlottesville with the abduction of Graham, an 18-year-old sophomore who went missing there Sept. 13 and whose remains were found in mid-October.

Authorities say they also have forensic evidence linking Matthew to the 2009 disappearance and death of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington.
