Former teacher accused of having sex with student
SEALE, Ala. -- A former high school teacher has been arrested on charges of having inappropriate sexual behavior with a student.
AL.com reports that former Russell County High School teacher 26-year-old Jeremy Brock Bumgardner was arrested Friday. The Russell County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that Bumgardner is charged with school employee engaging in a sex act with a student and transmitting obscene material to a child.
The sheriff's office says the alleged offense took place in 2016, when Bumgardner was a history teacher and coach.
The school district has refused to comment on the case, CBS affiliate WKRG in Mobile reports.
It's unclear if Bumgardner has an attorney.
