Jamie Dornan fears for his life at "Fifty Shades" premiere

Jamie Dornan is very nervous for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" premiere. Not because he's concerned with whether people will like the movie, but because he thinks he could get murdered.

In an interview with Details for its February issue, the actor -- playing Christian Grey -- said he actually fears for his life after having snagged the coveted part.

"I almost don't want to put this out there into the ether, but I fear I'll get murdered, like John Lennon, by one of those mad fans at the premiere," the 32-year-old Irish star said. "Because a lot of people are very angry that I'm playing this character. And I'm a father now, and a husband. I don't want to die yet."

All fears aside, Dornan says he does identify with the character of Christian Grey.

"[It had to do with] an attraction and understanding I have for people that are broken in some way," he explained. "Not that I'm some broken bird, but there's a massive element of me that's fractured from losing my mother so young, and I'm drawn to characters who are wounded."

He went on to tell Details that he understands the S&M aspect of the character even if that's not, well, an interest of his.

"Even if you didn't have Christian's history of childhood abuse and abandonment, I totally understand why a person would be into it," he said. "Something like trainspotting or planespotting? I actually don't get that. But I do understand the psychology of being tied up and getting turned on."
