Is there going to be a "Sharknado 4"?

Ian Ziering talks "Sharknado 3," "The Celebrity Apprentice"

The "Sharknado 3" storm hasn't even settled yet, but makers of the hit Syfy franchise are already confirming a fourth installment.

"Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" -- which premiered Wednesday night -- wrapped with a big cliffhanger: The future of Tara Reid's April character is unknown. At the end of the TV movie, the screen cut to black, and this message popped up: "You decide if #AprilLives or #AprilDies...We're not done yet."

Syfy then posted the following tweet on Thursday.

Thunder Levin, the screenwriter behind the first three "Sharknado" films, tells CBS News that writing the script for "Sharknado" sequels has become increasingly difficult.

"It gets more challenging in a way because we've done a lot of stuff...and we have to keep coming up with new stuff. And there's a lot more attention [on it].... The first one nobody expected anything.... And this one ['Sharknado 3'] -- everybody gives their opinions -- and I have to find a way to synthesize all of those into a coherent story."

As opposed to the first two, which took place in Los Angeles and New York City, respectively, the third installment found the shark storm traveling from Washington all the way down to South Florida.

So, where will the fourth one take place?

Levin told us last week that nothing officially has been decided, but they have tossed around a lot of ideas.

Possibly a global sharknado?
