Idina Menzel, John Legend to perform at Super Bowl
The Super Bowl will feature some top-notch performances this year.
Idina Menzel, the voice behind "Let It Go" from "Frozen," will perform the national anthem before Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. And John Legend is on board to sing "America the Beautiful."
Menzel joins a list of singers who have performed the national anthem prior to the Super Bowl, including Alicia Keys, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick Jr., Mariah Carey, Dixie Chicks, Beyonce Knowles and Christina Aguilera.
She's coming off quite a year with the ongoing success of "Frozen." Menzel also recently released a holiday album.
Legend, meanwhile, just received a Golden Globe Award for "Glory," his song with rapper Common, "Glory," which appears in the civil rights movie "Selma." The song just got nominated for an Oscar on Thursday.
Katy Perry will play Super Bowl this year and has tapped Lenny Kravitz as a special guest. Last year, more than 115 million viewers tuned in for the halftime show featuring Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
