Honest Trailers lampoons the Emmy nominees with new video
Screen Junkies' long-running Honest Trailers series earned an itself Emmy nomination -- for outstanding short-form variety series.
So of course the folks behind it had to take a look at the big nominees.
The team takes the same satirical and silly treatment it usually gives big Hollywood blockbusters and applies it to this year's crop of TV's best, including "The Americans," "Game of Thrones" and "Modern Family."
While most of the observations are spot-on -- like how both "House of Cards" and "Veep" really are twisted, nightmare versions of American politics that keep getting upstaged by reality -- the real winners are the new names they come up with for the various series.
"The Americans" becomes "Ruskie Business," "Modern Family" is now "Not as Modern as 'Transparent''s Family" and "The People vs. O.J. Simpson" is "The People vs. O.J. Simpson vs. Fargo."
The 2016 Emmy Awards will be handed out live on Sunday, Sept. 18.
