"Homeland" adds two new stars for season 4

"Homeland" has recruited two new additions to its cast for the show's upcoming fourth season.

Showtime announced Tuesday that Corey Stoll ("House of Cards") and Laila Robins ("Bored to Death," "In Treatment") will be joining the CIA drama.

Stoll will guest-star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA Chief of Station in Pakistan and a rising star in the agency's firmament. The network did not specify how many episodes he'd appear in.

Robins will join as series regular Martha Boyd, the United States Ambassador to Pakistan, who is "professional and put together, with a ship-to-ship voice and the personality to match."

Season 4 of "Homeland" will follow Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) back to the Middle East as she's assigned to one of the most dangerous and volatile CIA stations in the region. Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend and Nazanin Boniadi will also return for the fourth season, which begins production later this month in Cape Town, South Africa.

"Homeland" returns to Showtime later this fall.
