Hillary Clinton slams Donald Trump in front of his hotel
Hillary Clinton dropped by a protest outside the Trump Hotel Las Vegas Monday afternoon to voice her support for the Culinary Union Workers and to slam one of her Republican opponents, Donald Trump, the man whose name was emblazoned on the hotel.
"Some people think Trump is entertaining, but it is not entertaining to insult immigrants and women," she told a group of about 500 workers. Some protesters held a large banner reading, "Make America Great Again! Mr. Trump start here."
Standing in front of the hotel, she said, "If you are going to run for president, then represent all of the people of the United States," she said. "I wanted to come by to lend my voice to all yours and I wish you well in these efforts."
Clinton arrived in Las Vegas Monday - she is in town for the first Democratic presidential debate, which will take place Tuesday evening. After her brief remarks, she shook a few hands in the crowd and left soon after.
Trump co-owns the Trump Hotel Las Vegas with Phil Ruffin, the owner of the Treasure Island hotel. Treasure Island is unionized, however, as are a majority of the hotels on the Strip, according to an organizer at the protest.
