Hillary Clinton had over $40 million more than Donald Trump at end of May
Donald Trump and the Republican party have a lot of ground to make up against Hillary Clinton and the Democrats, according to May 31 fundraising figures.
According to FEC filings, Trump had just $1.29 million on hand as of the end of May, compared to Clinton's $42.46 million. One caveat--she was still competing against Bernie Sanders through the first week of June, so that number may now be a little lower.
The presumptive Democratic nominee's super PAC, Priorities USA Action, had $52 million on hand, and and the DNC had an additional $8.98 million.
The main super PAC supporting Trump, Rebuilding America Now, on the other hand, wasn't up and running until earlier this month, and it won't file its first fundraising report until July 20.
His other super PAC, Great America PAC, had only $500,000 on hand as of May 31.
The RNC, however, with $19.9 million at the end of May, had over twice what the DNC had on hand.
