2 soldiers injured in Colo. Black Hawk copter "hard landing"
FORT CARSON, Colo. -- Fort Carson says two soldiers were injured in a Black Hawk helicopter accident Wednesday afternoon.
The military says it's investigating how the accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Forest Service land. Officials say four soldiers were in the helicopter during a routine training mission.
Fort Carson spokeswoman Dani Johnson said the incident is being described as a hard landing. The military did not elaborate on the extent of the injuries.
CBS Denver reports authorities investigated a downed Fort Carson helicopter in a heavily wooded area in Douglas County. The station helicopter flew over wreckage in a heavily wooded area five miles west of Perry Park near Devil's Head.
The soldiers were part of Fort Carson's 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.
