HBO renews "Girls" for season 5

Just days before "Girls" returns to our lives for its fourth season, HBO has picked up the show for a fifth season.

The announcement came Monday night at the "Girls" season 4 premiere party in New York.

Series creator/star Lena Dunham and executive producer Jenni Konner will start work on the new season Tuesday, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"No one has seen them, but they exist," Dunham said of the first two scripts for season 5.

The fourth season of "Girls" premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Check out a teaser below:
