Arrest made after Hawaii man shot 3 times drove self to hospital

WAIANAE, Hawaii -- On Sept. 16, 25-year-old Kele Stout drove himself to the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center with three gunshot wounds, then blacked out, reports CBS affiliate KGMB.

More than a month later, police say they've pieced together what happened that day, and have made an arrest. Ranier Ines, 42, has been charged with robbery and kidnapping in the case. His bail is set at $500,000.

A second suspect remains at large.

Police say the victim knew the suspects and that they worked together.

Sources say on the day of the shooting, Stout and Ines had just finished work when Ines allegedly pulled a gun on Stout while they were driving in a company van.

Stout was then allegedly ordered to drive to a home in Waianae, Hawaii, where police sources said his hands were tied behind his back and his face covered with a towel while Ines and another man beat him.

Stout told police he heard Ines tell the unidentified suspect to "handle him."

That second suspect then allegedly drove Stout somewhere else in Waianae and shot him in the face. While Stout begged for his life, the man shot him two more times while driving, police said.

Stout told police he heard the second suspect on the phone making plans to burn the car with his body inside. But for whatever reason, the man got out of the car with the engine running.

That's when Stout managed to untie himself and drive to Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.

Earlier this month, police released a composite sketch and a description of a suspect in the shooting.

On Oct. 22, police found Ines on Manuu Street in Waianae.
