Halle Berry has close encounter in CBS' "Extant" teaser

Oscar-winner Halle Berry may very well have the fate of the world on her shoulders in CBS' new summer series "Extant."

The 47-year-old "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actress plays astronaut Molly Watts, returning home from a 13-month solo mission in outer space. Watts tries to readjust to everyday life with her scientist-husband John (Goran Visnjic) and their young son, Ethan (Pierce Gagnon), but it turns out all may not be as it seems.

Key details about the new series, from executive producer Steven Spielberg, have been kept tightly under wraps ahead of its July premiere, but a new 30-second teaser clip reveals some surprising twists.

"I saw something in space," Berry says in the new spot. "It was real."

And then comes the big shocker. She's pregnant, and it looks like the baby was conceived in space, which means she might have some explaining to do with her husband.

Watch the clip below to see what other mysteries await Berry on the series.

"Extant" premieres Wednesday July 9 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
