Missing New Orleans woman found dead

NEW ORLEANS --The New Orleans Police Department has confirmed that Haley Saltaformaggio, a missing Mandeville woman, has been found dead in New Orleans, reports CBS affiliate WWL.

In an announcement made by the NOPD on Sunday afternoon, Saltaformaggio was found unresponsive in her locked car around 5 p.m. Authorities also added a handgun was found in the front seat near Saltaformaggio's body, and authorities said she suffered from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Her cause of death has not been confirmed by the coroner's office, reports the station.

Saltaformaggio was reported missing Saturday after friends and family had not heard from her.
