​Security measures questioned after gyrocopter breaches Capitol airspace

It's a bird...it's a plane...no, it's a man in a gyrocopter. Doug Hughes, 61, turned heads in Washington, DC Wednesday when he landed his aircraft on the West Lawn of the Capitol. The Tampa-area postal worker had wanted to deliver letters to members of Congress in demand of campaign finance reform but his stunt backfired.

Hughes was arrested and now his flight is raising questions about security, not money to candidates. Specifically, how is it that he flew without being detected in some of the most restricted airspace in the country?
