Grammys 2016: Sleeves and sequins rule red carpet

Taylor Swift had the right idea in her tiny orange silk tube top and long pink skirt that had a slit in the front, baring her legs. After all, the red carpet hit nearly 90 degrees in Los Angeles on Grammys day.

Swift didn't bring the whole squad with her, but her bestie Selena Gomez came to the Grammys wearing a navy blue sequined dress with cutouts on the side.

Sequins ruled on the red carpet on Grammys night, with some rocking more subtly sequined looks, like Adele, who wore a long-sleeved black sleeved gown with light sequined detail on the bodice of her dress.

Vanessa Lachey wore a short sequined black dress with long sleeves, and Kaley Cuoco wore a white cutout gown with subtle sequin stripes. Chrissy Teigen showed off her baby bump in a form-fitting, long white gown that boasted a floor-length sequined cape.

Many stars came to the Grammys wearing simple black frocks, like Bella Hadid and Demi Lovato who wore sleek, long-sleeved gowns; Hadid wore a cutout version while Lovato wore a dress with a deep v-neck.

Some celebs went old Hollywood with satin gowns, like Andra Day, who wore a long-sleeved emerald silk gown with a white fur (or faux-fur) stole, and Faith Evans, who wore a similar outfit; Evans wore a white satin gown with a black fur stole.

Zendaya attended the Grammys with a new blonde hair-do, and paired her new hairstyle with a menswear-inspired look in a black double-breasted pantsuit.

Lady Gaga, who rarely follows the crowd when it comes to style, wore a David Bowie-inspired getup. She donned a blue silk Chinoiserie-inspired gown with bright red Ziggy Stardust hair and glittery eye makeup; the singer is to pay tribute to the late singer during the show.
