Grammys 2016: Rihanna cancels performance
Rihanna unexpectedly bowed out of her scheduled performance at the 2016 Grammys after she was put on vocal rest by her doctor.
The singer was meant to perform "Kiss It Better" from her new album "ANTI," and even rehearsed the song, but was unable to take the Grammys stage.
Rihanna's representative told CBS News, "Based on Rihanna's examination, after Grammy rehearsal today, Rihanna's doctor put her on vocal rest for 48-hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords. The antibiotics she has been on for three days did not kill the infection adequately, therefore she cannot perform safely."
Rihanna later apologized to her fans on Twitter, and thanked CBS for their support.
The singer released her album "ANTI" on Tidal in January.
