George R.R. Martin pens blog post to end annoying "Games of Thrones" questions

"Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin on show's success, writing next book

"Game of Thrones" writer and executive producer George R.R. Martin is trying to focus on writing two new novels -- and is in the midst of developing three new series for HBO and Cinemax - so for the love of dragons would you please stop pestering him about what's going to happen in the "Game of Thrones" finale?

The fantasy writer, whom The Hollywood Reporter had named "the third most powerful writer in Hollywood" in December 2013, took to his frequently updated blog Not A Blog to put an end to what he sees as distracting commenting.

"Please stop emailing me or posting off-topic comments," Martin said in the post Wednesday, in which he also alludes to a "Puppywars" controversy among fans and details his very busy schedule that includes appearances in Sweden, Germany and Archipelacon on the island of Aland (near Finland).

As for the fates of Sansa, Cersei and the White Walkers, Martin has nothing more to say, and still would prefer not to defend against attacks about plot changes from the books to the show.

"It is not my intention to get involved in those [controversies], nor to allow them to take over my blog and website," states Martin, who's behind the "A Song of Ice and Fire" books on which "Game of Thrones" is based.

Martin directs those posters to other websites where those discussions can continue. "Wage those battles on Westeros, or Tower of the Hand, or Boiled Leather, or Winter Is Coming, or Watchers on the Walls. Any place that isn't here, actually."

"What I can control is what happens in my books," asserts the white-bearded 66-year-old writer. "So I am going to return to that chapter I've been writing on The Winds of Winter now, thank-you very much."
