George Clooney handcuffs himself to David Letterman: "You're not going anywhere!"

George Clooney really doesn't want David Letterman to retire from the "Late Show" on CBS -- so much so he handcuffed himself to the late-night host during Thursday episode.

"Let me see your wrist," he asked Letterman.

He soon whipped out a pair of handcuffs and linked their respective wrists together.

"Wait a minute!" Letterman said.

But Clooney wasn't having it, repeatedly saying "nope " and "no." He then tossed the keys into the studio audience and said, "You're not going anywhere, David Letterman."

"Now George is this something left over from the bachelor days?" Letterman asked the newly-married actor.

"It could make for an awkward evening," Clooney said later.

Letterman announced Thursday that some of his final guests will include Eddie Veddar, Bill Murray and others. His last show is slated for May 20. Stephen Colbert will take over hosting duties.

Letterman will be featured on CBS' "Sunday Morning" this weekend in an interview with Jane Pauley.
