Frank Vincent, "Sopranos" actor, has died
Frank Vincent, an actor well-known for his roles in "The Sopranos" and "Goodfellas," died, CBS News confirms.
Vincent's publicist, Karen Buongiomo, confirmed the news Wednesday.
The actor's most recognized characters were Billy Batts in 1990's "Goodfellas" and Phil Leotardo, the nemesis to Tony Soprano in the long-running HBO series "The Sopranos."
Vincent also played character Frank Marino, based on real-life gangster Frank Cullotta, in the film "Casino."
The Associated Press writes that Vincent was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, and acted in school plays and learned piano, trumpet and drums.
They add that Vincent became a session drummer as an adult for singers like Paula Anka, Del Shannon, Trini Lopez and The Belmonts.
Vincent published a book in 2006 titled "A Guy's Guide to Being a Man's Man."
